Visitors to The Crewe Heritage Centre have the unique opportunity of viewing the Centre's own locomotives and also viewing those locomotives passing through Crewe on Mainline Charter.

Our details of Mainline Charters are regularly updated from external sources.  Always check with the tour operator for current information as charters may be subject to last minute cancellation and locomotives are subject to availability.

Advanced Passenger Train

Our most prominent exhibit is APT 370003.

Introduced in 1979, the APT-P, as it is normally referred to, was an InterCity Development train, uniquely designed to provide faster journey times on the West Coast Main Line, culminating in a passenger relief service between London and Glasgow three days a week between 1983-85.

6201 Princess Elizabeth

The Crewe Heritage Centre is now the locomotive base for main line charters and 6201's engineering depot.

Whilst Lizzie will be away on charter throughout the year, The Crewe Heritage Centre is proud to have her as one of their resident locos.
